Card - 2-27-10

I only got one design done today and only six of these cards! But I did do my Lifetime Story pages (which took much longer than I thought!).

These are the first embossed cards (if you don't count the tiny piece I embossed for a few cards the other day). You may notice (I'm sure you will now since I'm pointing it out) that on the front card, I embossed the bottom leafy piece backwards! : P

Oh well, there's always a learning curve with a new piece of equipment. My Sizziz Texture Boutique is new. It is the perfect size for my cards and will carry easy for crops. And it is so darn cute : )

Gotta get ready for church - going tonight instead of Sunday morning (hmmm...I could get used to this sleeping in on the weekends); then out to dinner with friends.

Hopefully I'll get more done tomorrow...or maybe I'll spend the day reading instead. We'll see what mood I'm in.

Here are cards I've been working on the last couple of weeks. None were done today, though. Had to finish some cleaning and lost my creative mojo :P Got an appt at 2:00...when its over, I'll head back up and hopefully do something productive!

Excited for an extra day!

I'm taking tomorrow off from work and had planned to clean out 4 closets. I headed to my scrap room earlier this evening and started on that closet...moved to the next room...moved to the hall closet. Three closets done...one to go.

Now, I'm thinking I may skip the 4th closet and spend the day in my scrap book room. Sounds way more fun than cleaning out my bedroom closets - so many clothes...so many that don't fit :( Too depressing...I'll do it another day. Tomorrow is for scrapping!!!

I'll be sure to post pictures.

My Lifetime Story - Siblings

Well...I got some more scrapping done. This puts me up-to-date with my Lifetime Story. This week's challenge was Brothers and Sisters. The big yellow space is waiting for a picture of my oldest bro and his wife.

My Lifetime Story - Spiritual Heritage

yahoo, it's the weekend

I'm so glad it's the weekend. I went to bed before 10 last night. That's unusual! Slept until my alarm went off at 7:15 - dang it, I had it on "on" instead of "weekdays". Oh well, laid in bed until 8:30. I've had my coffee and Nutrigrain bar and will head up to the scrap room.

I can't wait to work on something...anything. I've got two sets of pages for My Lifestory to do. I have them laid out in my mind, now to just get it from in there and to paper :)

We've had a stressful couple of weeks (almost a month now)...but, God is good all the time.

Hoping to post pictures later!

Snow, snow, more snow : )

It's still snowing. I don't mind it but then I'm blessed to have my office only 5 miles from my house and I have an SUV 4-wheel drive. So I feel safe when I do have to go out. Now, don't get me wrong...I'd rather be at home scrapping!

This massive icicle is hanging from the corner. When it comes down, I hope it doesn't put a hole in the roof.

The front steps were buried. The snow was more than a foot deep. Glad the UPS man wasn't due to come - he might have gotten hurt trying to leave me a package. Of course, that means I haven't any goodies coming either!

David (my son) works midnight to 3am at FedEx. He got off early last night and shoveled the drive at 1:30 a.m. I told him I'd get him up in the morning to shovel if I couldn't get out of the garage. I was very thankful to see he had done it.

Brad came home and shoveled the walk. Glad he only had a little bit to do. He is on light work duty due to an injury at work.

The Funnel concept

Josh McDowell, renown youth speaker, was at church Sunday along with a woman from Relationships Under Construction. She gave an illustration that I wanted to share.

When we live life on the wide road, it's like living on the wide end of the funnel. Everything is wide-open for us. However, our poor decisions will funnel us down to very few choices and a narrow quality of life.

However, when we live life on the narrow way - its like living on the narrow end of funnel. As you move through life, the choices and rewards you have become wide open.

God's blessings comes to us when we live according to His plan. If you'd like to hear the actual message, because she explains it much better than I did hear, go to
http://www.grovecitynazarene.org/interact/vondemand/on-demand.html
and choose the video from 2-14-10. Josh McDowell gave an awesome talk as well.

Scrapbook Room

It took a few days but I finally got my room straightened up and organized. I was going to throw out the white dresser because one of the drawers was broken. Then I decided to take off all the drawer fronts and use this as a shelf. The drawer bottoms aren't very strong so I replaced them with foam board. Still not very strong but it'll work if I don't load them down.

I have the TV tucked in the closet but I don't watch it much. I sit with my back to it and I'm usually listening to the radio.

The walls are red and blue because this was my son's game room. His school colors were red and blue.

Cleaning

Brad and I had errands this morning and I thought I was going to miss book club - but, thank you Brad, we got done early and skip a few so I could go. I enjoyed spending time with my fellow readers.

Spent the rest of the day cleaning - ugh. Wish I had a cleaning fairies or a cleaning lady : )

I got my scrapbook room straightened up and the book shelves moved to the basement. I can't stand a lot of stuff in my room and the scrapping stuff is starting to take over so the book shelves had to go. I still have to go down and put the books back on the shelves but that can wait. I just need to run the sweeper and I'll be able to get my mojo going again.

Cleaned out the guest room - almost. Got to get rid of the broken dresser and run the sweeper. Even got the closet mostly cleaned out. Why, oh why, do we collect so much stuff that we can't seem to get rid of?

I want to get to creating so I can start posting again. I'm excited to do the next My Lifestory page - my faith heritage. I've got the idea but I need to get some scanning done.

God is good

Today I blew it...today I lost it...today I found redemption.

I jumped on David about not going to school this morning, figuring he was too tired to get up. He said it was cancelled...I told him he better be able to prove it...he sighed...I left. Got out in the driveway and he texts me - "You sure didn't make me feel special." I looked at the date - February 10th - his birthday. I blew it.

We have a lot of stress in our house right now...I have a lot of stress at work right now...I made my son feel terrible on his birthday...I planned to do something I knew I shouldn't. The pressure of it all caused me to break down on my way to work - tears and all. I lost it.

Father is awesome. He reminded me that He is always ready to receive me...when I'm ready to come back. I confessed my disobedience and cried out to Father. I found redemption.

I am thankful for a merciful Father and wonderful Savior. I am blessed to have a loving husband and wonderful son. I am hopeful for the future...no matter what it holds.

God is good all the time......all the time God is good.

Let it snow!

Now that I'm finally feeling better (although my nose is very red and sore), I say, BRING ON THE SNOW. I'm ready to spend some time in my scrap room. Right now though, I'm trying to psych myself into getting the tax stuff together.

More My Lifetime Story

I've finally got caught up on My Lifetime Story pages. Here are the family tree, parents, grandparents pages. (I know you told me to wait until retreat, Pati, but I don't think I'd be able to do these pages there - I need quiet. Don't worry, I'll have lots to do!)

I forgot to journal on Mom and Dad's pages so I had to add it via "scroll"!

Can't wait to see what this week's subject will be!

Snow, Snow, Snow

The snow messes with our satellite reception - here's what the TV looked like during our favorite rerun show - NCIS:

Brad climbed the ladder (twice) to move the snow off the satellite

Here is where Brad laid when the ladder broke (on the second climb):

Here's Brad using a new tool he bought from Home Depot after he got up out of the snow:

Brad is sore - back and ankle - but he is okay. Scared me to death - so glad I was out there. Have to admit I wished I would have snapped his picture while he laid on the ground :O (all you scrappers will understand this).

for all live unto Him

Today's Bible verse is
He is not a God of the dead but of the living, for all live unto Him. (Luke 20:38)

The line "for all live unto Him" (KJV) is what intrigues me today. In other translations it says "
for they are all alive to him" (NLT) and "for to him all are alive" (NIV).

I read the verse in context so I'm sure some will disagree with my line of thought today but this is what I hear...

All men are alive to God. All men are able to come to God. God does not see others as we do. As people we deem those worthy of our attention or our love or our time. God sees everyone as worthy. He sees all men as alive and able to make the commitment to Him that He so richly desires. We were created for fellowship with Father.

Listen for God to call to you. He loves you and you are alive to Him.

Still sick :(

I don't get sick often but when I do, I really get it bad. It cycles about every 5-6 years I think. I did sleep better last night but no energy during the day. Going to try to do some work today for the office and then maybe, just maybe (after a nap), I'll be able to do something in my scrap room. I have a lot of projects I want to play with before retreat in March.

Ear is still hurting and clogged up - sounds like I'm underwater. This gives me a headache. Coughing isn't too bad if I don't talk - if I do, then I get a coughing fit which hurts my throat. Nose is still stopped up - nasal spray from doc isn't working very well.

I'll be better - eventually : )
