OWH #181

I got all my cards for the SEM Birthday celebration done and I wanted to work on the OWH Challenge.  Lots of parts.  I try to make 8 cards when I'm working on ones to go to OWH.  That meant cuting, gluing and assembling 48 pieces.  My fingers are still a little sticky!

Here's the sketch:
Here's my take:

SEM Card Challenge #4

Got another challenge done...but had a scare (just a little one).  I'm putting something away and out of the corner of my eye, I see a large spider on my desk.  I was getting ready to freak out...
until I realized it was the cellophane from the stamp I was putting away...see it there peaking out from beneath the pop dots.

Here is the card I made for the challenge #4 - create a Christmas or Thanksgiving card using a sketch:
I did 4 more but ran the vertical strip through the Xyron wrong:

The reds don't match at all, but Santa is cute!

ODBD Challenge on OWH

Hello!
I got to spend most of Saturday in my scrap room but I didn't get much done!  I found a card on pinterest I wanted to copy and I chose the butterfly that had a lot of parts to separate.  And I did 12 of them (okay, started out as 15 but I mangled some of the poor butterflies).
I am trying to use my cricut more but I need to figure out what settings work best with what paper so I'm getting cleaner cuts.  I know there is probably a blog out there that has this info.  If you know of one, please share in a comment!

I also worked on samples of wedding invitations for my son and his fiance.  I'm struggling because of all my border/corner punches, not one works.  I did come up with one using the 8 punch.  I told her that if she didn't like them, it wouldn't hurt my feelings. I want her to be happy with the end result and not thinking, rats...I have to use this!

I also did a card for the Our Daily Bread Designs July challenge for Operation Write Home.  We had to use stitching on the card.  I did several of these but my sewing machine was not cooperating so I covered the stitching up on most of the cards.  I think it needs a tune-up.
Here is one with the stitching covered up
I got this layout from PrettyPaperCards blog.

I'm off today with the family to West Virginia for my husband's mother's family reunion.  We drive 2 hours down and 2 hours back to spend 2 hours there!  I'd rather spend those 6 hours in my room creating but family connections are in important.

The Lord is dealing with my heart.  I've been doing Beth Moore's devotion - Jesus, The One and Only every morning, as well of Hello Mornings study through John.  Both are showing me that I need to get involved with people.  I need to show them love - His love.  I've not done a good job of that.  And when I look inside myself and ask why, it comes down to being selfish.  Ouch.  I'm selfish with my time.  God has blessed me with so much.  It is way past time I started sharing with others.

Thanks for stopping by and I trust you will have a restful Sunday - and a crafty one.  Remember, your creativity can change a life...which could change the world!  Susan
