New Years Resolutions .... really??

Okay, I'm going to try! I want to participate in challenges so I spend more evenings in my scrap room (instead of in front of the TV). So my NYR is to stay faithful to the challenges....and to lose weight (for the 20th year in a row).

Jingle Belles blog is challenging us to create a Christmas card each week. By the end of November, I should have over 40 cards...now I just need to make more friends so I can have someone to send them to :)

The challenge was to use something old and something new. The red velvet ribbon is from my Mom's house so it is old...and the stamps were in a Christmas card sent to me from a client so they are new (to me, at least). And, YES, I notice the red one is crooked....hopefully I'll remember to straighten it before I mail it next Christmas.

Here is the weekly challenge from the Stars & Stamps blog for OWH

Keep your heart open and let your creativity change someone's life. Thanks for stopping by...Susan

  7. I'm sure there are lots of stampin' friend who would love to be on your Christmas card list ... nursing homes and care centers, as well as card drives for soldiers are another great place to share your creativity ... love how you recycled those fun postage stamp elements ... wonderful holiday design ... thanks so much for making Jingle Belles one of your New Years Resolutions ... hopefully we're that fun resolution you can keep.

  8. well by golly if you hang out with the jingle belles all year, i have a feeling you'll have ppl lining up to get on the list to get one of your lovely cards!!! (cause heck, having SEEN them, i already want one!!!) ♥ i LOVE that gorgeous red ribbon and the postage stamps are totally brilliant! (the sanded stars card is equally cool, btw!)

in reference to what stef was saying about card donations, OPERATION WRITE HOME is one of the many cool sites that is looking for handmade cards of all themes, all year long! if you ever have "extras" they're a nice place to send them!

  15. Hi Susan, thank you for answering my question about the sanded stars but I now have another. Where can I purchase the "core-dinations cardstock"? I love the look!

  16. Lisa, I bought some at a scrap expo show but I think Michael's or Joanne's carry it. I love it to. You can sand it and some of it even embossing brings out the white core. I have some that already has a pattern. Jillibean carries it as well.

  17. I checked my stash of core paper. Cosmo Cricket, Jillibean Soup both have textured core'dination packs. Check out www.coredinations.com
