Another card

Here is tonight's card. I copied it from Pinterest. I got another card done but it's for a friend's future daughter-in-law and so I'll wait to post it until later (after I've gone to the shower).

WCMD card

I can't believe I copied a Becca Feeken card at Amazing Paper Grace. Her cards are beautiful and way more fussy than I usually do. I don't have the patience to put together layer upon layer. But this card was was special and I wanted to do something more than my regular work.



I might just have to try more fussy cards for special occasion. I don't think I could do many of these of OWH - it took quite some time but I really like it.

Happy Sunday!

It was a happy Sunday today. I went to church this morning and Pastor Dale had an excellent sermon. I came home and spent most of the day in my scrap room. Got lots of work done (as you will see). Thank you Pati for all the yummy supplies you gave me - I used a lot of the scraps to make these cards.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday (yesterday) to my Son, David. He turned 21...which is hard to believe since I don't think I'm old enough for a child that age (at least I don't FEEL that old).

monkey card

I bought these googly eyes and wanted to use them so I cut this very cute monkey on my Cricut. Unfortunately I wasn't following a pattern so I was winging the rest of the card. This is not a good idea...I'm not creative on my own (just a really good copier).



I'll have to find some more critters to cut out and then find a card I can recreate!

Had dinner with my Sister-in-law tonight and got the Stampin Up catalog from her. I can't wait to go through it because I know I'm going to find lots of stuff I just can't live without.

I might get crafty later on tonight since the guys are going to be watching the hockey game on the TV that has all the movies taped on it.

Here is my card for this week's challenge on both Jingle Belles & CraftHazelNut's Christmas Card challenge blogs. The sketch came from Jingle Belles and using a santa from Hazel.

what's between an inchie and a twinchie??

These carda were inspired by Jill Yegerlehner's card over at Jillibean. It was hard enough doing the 1.5" squares (I did 9 of these cards so that means 54 squares), I don't think I could have done the smaller ones! Altho the smaller ones look great. Maybe another day :)



Good use of scraps. I keep all my squares in a baggie for just such a project. I need the corrugated frames Jill used.

Christmas card challenge

light pink, dark pink, and lime green -- not your typical Christmas colors but I think it came out alright! This is for both my Christmas card challenges - Jingle Belles and Hazel's (her's was to use bling - the 3 crystals and the tree lights!)

OWH Sketch 51

Stars & Stamps blog's challenge this week is this sketch.


While watching the weather channel this morning (yes, for our house, this is exciting TV), one of the women had on a pattern black on white skirt, black jacket and yellow shirt. LOVED it. I told my husband - that'd make a great card! Do you do that too? See patterns for scrapping in people's clothes or get layout ideas from certain outfits?

Anyway, here is her outfit...er, I mean, my card for the challenge. I used drywall tape under the yellow ribbon for the horizontal piece.


Well, I'm off to make some more of these cards since I have a 12x12 sheet of the background paper to use up. I've got to spend a day using scraps only again. My scrap bags (sorted by color) are getting full.

New Years Resolutions .... really??

Okay, I'm going to try! I want to participate in challenges so I spend more evenings in my scrap room (instead of in front of the TV). So my NYR is to stay faithful to the challenges....and to lose weight (for the 20th year in a row).

Jingle Belles blog is challenging us to create a Christmas card each week. By the end of November, I should have over 40 cards...now I just need to make more friends so I can have someone to send them to :)

The challenge was to use something old and something new. The red velvet ribbon is from my Mom's house so it is old...and the stamps were in a Christmas card sent to me from a client so they are new (to me, at least). And, YES, I notice the red one is crooked....hopefully I'll remember to straighten it before I mail it next Christmas.

Cards finished today in my "new" studio

I was happy to be in my studio today working on cards for www.OperationWriteHome.org. I found a copy of Cards magazine (Dec10) for less than the shelf price (I think around $15). I've never seen this magazine in person and was delighted to get a copy. I only wish it wasn't full of Christmas cards :) Although I now have plenty of ideas for next year.

I still don't have the hang of my new camera - probably because I haven't bothered to read the instruction book. So my pictures aren't the best. I'm sure it is the light in my family room but I didn't want to trek back upstairs to take the pictures!

The first three cards are my originals.


These two have Kraft paper as the base and then a pink texture cardstock on top.



The "shiny" on this card is coming from the silver ink I sponged on. You can't see if this shiny on the actual card so I was surprised to see if show up in the picture.



These cards are all CASEd from the Cards magazine, Dec10 issue.

The base is a peach cardstock with a teal ribbon tied around it to match the first layer cardstock under the white embossed paper. The flowers are punched out and small pieces of scrap cardstock are under the flowers.

I didn't like this when I first finished it, but after letting it sit on the table overnight, I decided to add glitter and send it!

This is my favorite of the day. Used my sewing machine to attach the 3 pieces of cardstock.

I got scrap-happy tonight

It feels like it's been so long since I've been in my scrap room. I've had Lashaun's page in my mind for several weeks and I finally got it on paper! His brother looks so sweet with him, I couldn't help but use these pics. I pray these brothers will be close forever.


Now I'm only one nephew behind but I have another coming in January so I better not take as long to do Isaac's page as I did Lashaun's. : )

I also had one more set of Christmas cards to do. I had to wait for my picture scanner (which I'm glad to say is finally home safe and sound). I wanted to use this pic of my husband and his brother but didn't have one on the computer! I CASEd this from the Nov/Dec Papercrafts magazine, page 7 (an ad for BoBunny). I L-O-V-E this magazine.


Notice the teeny tiny jingle bells in the corner? I tied them on using embroidery thread. My fingers are much too large for such tiny work!


I hope to be in my room tomorrow too. I haven't made cards for OWH in awhile and need to get a box out. I have about 30 done and some letters from the kids at church but I'd like to get a bunch more.

One more card 9-5-10

I got one more card done. Remember, I do multiples...that's why I'm not getting much done. Or could it be I'm just not in the mood?? Aaakkkk....I need to get in the mood. I want to get a box ready for OWH to help meet the need of our military deployed.

OWH Stars & Stamp Challenge

It was a dark stormy night...the thunder rolled in and the lightning flashed...I went to my scrap room to unplug my printer and cricut and decided to make a card : )

This is for the OWH Stars and Stamps challenge. We were to use patterned paper. Every thing here came from my scraps folder (except the flowers and bling).

OWH S&S challenge

I made this card from the Stars & Stripes Challenge sketch .

The top one is the original card I made for the challenge. The second one is the one I made with the scraps I had after making 6 of the top design! They all go to OWH in my next shipment.

Neighbor card

This is the card that I cut out last weekend on my cricut but didn't put together until today. Does it need something else? It feels plain to me. Maybe a blue cloud??

Thanks a Ton - a piggy card!

My son spent the week with friends at the Franklin County Fair. He even got to help a friend show one of his pigs. My son asked me to make a thank you card for his friend's parents. He asked that it have a pig on it. Here is what I came up with.



I wish I would have inked the words with chocolate brown. I was going to shadow them with a dark blue instead of putting them on the tag. Wish I had.

My husband and I are going to make cookies for our neighbors and pass them out with cards letting them know we care about them and are here for them if they every need anything - part of the Revolutionary Love day at our church. I did get the parts cut out on the cricut for the card - a house, tree and sun. I have to assemble them and write out the inside of the cards. Not tonight though...
