SEM June challenge

I haven't scrapped a layout for awhile - been working on cards.  Here is a layout I did for the June challenge at Scrapping Everyday Miracles.  We had to scrap about Love Never Fails - a couple that has inspired.  The scrap twist was that we can use only cardstock - no patterned paper.  Now that's a challenge.

These couples are inspirational.  My mom and her husband (okay, 3rd, but it was finally true love), my Aunt Ada and Uncle Dave, and my Aunt Jo and Uncle Doyle.  These are my mom's sisters and their husbands.  They had all taken a trip and met in Las Vegas (my Mom lived in LA, Ada in CA and Jo in IN).

All these couples are in love and prove that through thick and thin, love is a choice and can win out; you just have to work at it.  For me, this a picture of second and third chances...blended families...many moves...sickness and and poor...good times and bad...overcoming obstacles.

The blue and brown cardstock are stamped with white ink and the flags are stamped with green distress ink.  I inked the edges of the background paper too. The journaling card is printed but I'm counting it as an embellishment!

Head over to Scrapping Everyday Miracles blog and see some of the other great layouts created with just cardstock!  Thanks for stopping by, Susan
