cards 1-26-13
Two people I know ... one a friend from long ago and one my sister-in-law... are going through some tough times. Cancer. I hate that word. It took my sister and it took my Mom. My prayers are with Nancy and Dianna that God will bring His healing to your bodies and that your faith will remain strong.

Scarf
I made several scarves for Christmas - I found the pattern on Pinterest. I made 12 of them for gifts and now I've made 2 more for my sister-in-law and myself. My first one is made with yarn that is too flimsy and doesn't hold up as nice as I wanted and my sister-in-law wanted a cream one to wear with her brown coat (I made her a black/grey one for Christmas).
I wanted to share these because I really do love them. They are so very warm.
Have a great weekend...I'll be scrapping so I hope to have pages to show you next week.
Thanks for stopping by, Susan

Pie Safe rehab
We are having remodeling done in the house so I'm in what-can-I-change mode. We bought our pie safe about 13 years ago and the punched tin plates are showing their age - one is bent (from an angry teenager kicking it) and all were rusting.
We bought new metal inserts from Home Depot and I decided to see how hard it would be to replace the panels. I had to measure and cut them (after popping out the old panels). It was easier than I thought.
My husband said he likes it better than the original panels! Now I just have to clean out the pie safe because you can see them sort of.
I hope to have the after-remodeling pictures soon. We are getting closer. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day. Susan

Columbus Museum of Art
I went to the Columbus Museum of Art with some my son and his girlfriend and some friends. They had a display of Lego creations. WOW! We saw the Columbus downtown skyline and the OSU football stadium (1,000,000 Legos).
It was a spur of the moment trip but fun. I'll need to go back and look at the "real" art there. Sundays admission is free.

Cards 1-11-13
Thanks to my friend Pati for inviting me over to scrap. I got some cards done. Sorry the pics are a little fuzzy...I think I was standing too far away and zoomed too much and the lighting wasn't so good. I was in a hurry to visit my mother-in-law in the hospital.
The flowers are from a border punch...I love they way they look and will have to play with borders with this punch.
Thanks for stopping by. Susan

Card 1-5-13
My first card of 2013. Looking back over 2012, I didn't do many cards...I need to step up my game!
The base is kraft cardstock with the label cut with my Cricut. The ribbon (both Stampin Up) runs behind it. I embossed the small heart with copper powder.

Top Ten cards in 2012
Here are my top 10 cards I made this year. All but 3 were for OWH.
The first one (Praise God) was made for the nursing staff at Mt. Carmel Hospital when my father-in-law had his open heart surgery.
The wedding card was made for my friend's son and daughter-in-law who got married this year. And this deer one was my son's b-day card.
Have a blessed 2013...and keep your heart open to change someone's life. Susan
