ARGGGHHHHH, there is only one show on Sunday I really watch faithfully - Army Wives. I love this show. But it is raining and this is what I've been watching for the past 10 minutes:
And, of course, it is not recording while it is "searching". Oh, wait...it just came back on. YEAH!!
I was in the scrap room today and started to work on 12 "Just a Note Cards". Couldn't get into it. Got the papers cut, the bases ready, and the words cut on my Cricut...but I'm not thrilled with it so I'll finish them another day. You'll see them eventually.
Oh, yes, WELCOME to all my new followers. I'm excited to see the numbers grow. I hope you enjoy the mixture of posts - scrapping, cards, devotions, ramblings (like this one). If you haven't checked it out yet, please hop over to the OWH site. Even making only a few cards will make a difference. I love the posts they have facebook from the soldiers who are using the cards to send notes to their loved ones back home.
I hope you all have an awesome week. I plan on it :)

An evening of card-making and Praise & Worship
I received two prizes in the mail today...WOW, 2 in one day...I'm certainly blessed : )
The ribbon on this card was part of one prize packet and the stamp was a cheapy one from Flower Factory (love cheapy stuff). The flowers are from Michaels (had to cover them with Diamond Glaze so the sparkly won't flake off). The kraft paper for the card is also from Michaels - they were having a sale...$2.50 for 50 sheets - love it!!
Ribbon again from prize. I'm trying to use up letters creatively - the "h" is a "y" and the "e" is a "c" - had to bend it a little.
more ribbon from prize and the stamp "thinking of you" was a part of it. It is a set of 4 round stamps (for you, friend, thank you). Love them. The green flower is felt from the second prize packet.
Another flower from the prize back. Do you love the drywall tape! It is one of my favorite "household" items to use on my cards.
Ribbon and green flower again. I know you can't see the embelly on the flower but it is very sparkly but not a gem. I love it (clearly I'm in "love" mood tonight).
I got 16 cards done for OWH tonight while watching/singing with Praise & Worship from my church on the internet.
Used my new tape gun tonight:
It looks BIG ... and it is, but it is surprisingly easy to operate. I've been stockpiling tape whenever I find it on sale...got lots of tombow, adtech, and pro glider...and now 11 extra rolls of tape for this one! I shouldn't need to buy adhesive for quite some time.

Pure Heart, Holy Life.
Today's devotion from my Women's Devotional Bible is 1 Chronicles 28:1-10 - Pure Heart, Holy Life.
If our hearts are pure, the rest of our lives will be pure also. We will be humble not only in our actions but also in our thoughts. Our contentment will be exhibited in our speech as well as felt in our inner desires. Our compassion will not only be godly in the deeds themselves but also in the motives behind the acts. Our diligence in detail will be mirrored by the care we take of the hiddden places of hearts. The wisdom that we offer others will be lived out in our relationships with the members of our own families.
The world is filled with troubled people - people with so much hurt, turmoil, and sin beneath the thin veneer of their lives that they spread chaos and pain wherever they go. The woman of godly character stands in contrast, a balm to the wounds of the world and a source of strength and encouragement to all who come her way.
She knows that "the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thought" (1 Chronicles 28:9) but she is not afraid. For she trusts, not in her own holiness, but in the Lord, "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to the completion until the day of Christ Jesus " (Philippians 1:6)
Have a blessed day.

Happy Father's Day
Happy Father's Day!! To my husband: thanks for being a great dad. David loves you so much and still seeks your approval. You guys may butt heads at times but you are still the most influential person in his life.
My Dad passed away 15 years ago. Yesterday I was with my sisters and we talked about some our fondest memories and advice dad gave us. The best advice he gave me was that when I was nervous/scared about going into a new situation to pretend I owned the place. I was going to a new high school at the end of my freshman year (yes, my parents made me change schools at the worst times!!). I was so scared (never having going through this before) but his advice bolstered my confidence (even if it was fake confidence). I've carried that advice in my heart all these years and have relied on it several times.
To my son: one day you will make a terrific father. You will love them, encourage them, push them, and make them mad : ) You will say things to them that you swore you'd never say ('because I said so") and you will hear things from them that you said to your dad ("you never let me do anything").
To my sisters: thanks. I love you so much. You are my friends and such a part of me. Without your support over the last 47 years, I don't know where I'd be. I'm a better person because of your influence.
Life is good...through all its ups and downs and twists and turns. I long for heaven but I have joy on earth.

OWH cards
Cards for Operation Write Home. Wanted to use a sheet of diecuts a friend gave me so you'll see a lot of the same designs.
Copy of a design in the newest PaperCrafts Magazine
Another copy from the PaperCrafts Magazine
Not feeling well today - must've been the garlic fries from Red Robin. Missed Brad's family reunion (he woke up with a bad headache). Will try to get back into the scrap room later...but I'll probably spend most the time straightening up.

The weekend is here!
I'm so glad for the weekend. Got up at 7 - just like any day, but enjoyed having breakfast with Brad at Rise & Dine. Got the pancakes - she said they were large so I got 2. Should've gone with 1...left over half on my plate!
Getting ready for book club (finishing up the end of the last chapter this morning...oops, good book, just started reading it too late). This is one I'm going to read again - with Brad. It is called Forgotten God and is about the Holy Spirit. After reading it I realize that I have not allowed the Holy Spirit to have control in my life. I've maintained control and just allowed Jesus to be apart of my plans. Wow...
Later, I'll be playing in my scrap room. I just got my PaperCrafts magazine in the mail and can't wait to lift some designs.
Have an awesome weekend. If I get some cards done, I'll be sure to post.

More cards 6-3-10
I spent more time making cards this evening. Tried to use scraps
This is one of my favorites from this evening.
I saw a tutorial on making these flowers. Take cardstock and run it through the crimper different ways, then wad up the cardstock. It will begin to separate. I tear the two layers apart and it gives it a "furry" texture.

More cards
I've been able to work on cards this weekend for OWH. Love it. I get to play with patterns and lifts and try different techniques.
I got the three ribbons at the bottom on a spool from either Odd Lots or Tuesday Morning. I didn't realize how much was on the spool. I've made around 12 cards with it and still have a bunch left!
I love this card. I didn't care much for rub-ons, but I'm digging the letters.
This card is so much prettier in person. I really need a better camera or a better "studio". Maybe I'll look for an inexpensive ... whatever those things are called that you use to take picture of stuff for like E-bay.
I like this card because I used some of my Mom's ribbon. I figure she'd be real happy to know her craft supplies are being used for cards for our soldiers.
This is my favorite one this weekend (so far). The string/bow is made from fishing line that my husband bought and decided not to use.
Taking a little break and then I'll head back upstairs later on. A storm is moving in and I enjoy listening to the thunder rolling and the rain hitting the house.
